Let the blogging begin!!

What's on our minds? How about Amy Jacobson from Channel 5 taking a dip with Craig Stebic in the backyard pool of missing Plainfield mom Lisa Stebic. We guess she will be a hero if he tells her where Lisa is. So, either Amy will be hailed for her fast action responding to an invite and wearing a swimsuit to a meeting, or she will be seen as a fame seeking opportunist with very bad judgement.

Apparently the latter- CBS is reporting that she was fired from NBC today. Sad that someone looses their career by going to a backyard pool party, but seriously... WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!?!?!? Even if you did get a last minute call while on your way to the pool with the kids, the drive to Plainfield from the city is long enough- go home, put on some clothes and drop your kids off with a babysitter! I can only think- what would the reaction have been if a reporter was spotted sunbathing with Scott Peterson while Laci was missing and before he was arrested and put on death row??

She WASN'T THINKING!!! Looked a bit cozy all in the name of investigative reporting! I want to know if she was looking for clues poolside with Craig? What next? Deerhunting?

What does Amy know about Lisa's disappearance? Amy's on her own when it comes to her"career"- but if Craig said anything that could be useful in finding Lisa, Amy should talk - and fast. We want to hear any info Amy has about what happened to Lisa - and just about nothing about Amy's excuses for tarting it up as a backyard bimbo.

Another thing that will be interesting to know - who notified Channel 2 and got the video crew out there to Plainfield? Had neighbors or relatives seen Amy in Craig's company before and set her up to be "exposed" by "inviting" her out there again - but this time armed with a hidden video camera? Someone was ready to record this pool party, and Amy dove right in.

But the real question is, Where is Lisa???

What if she wasn't working? What if she had gone to Craig's house as a family friend having a mid-summer pool party? The two families must have grown close in the beginning of the search, as Amy helped make the story aware to the public. Probably in a very stressful, high anxiety situation like that, the two parties were united; forming somewhat of a team. Would the public be challenging her integrity if she had gone over there for a pool party with her family? Would this look as awful if it happend with another family friend? Probably not. And Amy shouldn't be dismissed based on someone taking illegal video and blackmailing her.
I'll miss her Target 5 investigations. They were ballin'.

Hi crslover - Thanks for providing another way of thinking about it. We don't have all the facts or know what Amy and Craig's real relationship was/is. Missing Person Case confidantes? Illicit pleasure mates? Swim buddies? Considering his wife is "missing" it does not seem like a good idea for him to be romping in the pool with another woman and her small children - a little unseemly wouldn't you say? Stay tuned to this developing story and we will too - hopefully the facts about whatever they were doing will be known faster than this long, horrible search for Lisa.

Last night I walked by a news stand in front of the grocery store, and there was Amy's huge face on the front page of the SunTimes saying "I'm Crushed". I thought "isn't she gone?, and then decided on grilled chicken and a small wholewheat pizza.

Fast forward to Thursday morning, just walked by the same news stand and see a huge color pic of Amy's face on the SunTimes "Judging Amy" says the bold headline. I think it's not worth the 50 cents to get the paper and read more...isn't she gone?

Eric Zorn, in his Tribune column, says that if Amy was a man that this wouldn't be such a big thing --really? If Eric Zorn was frolicking at the Stebic pool wearing nothing but a Speedo and dragging around his toddlers, we just might have seen and heard about it. The SunTimes would no doubt have it on the front page.
